Best Dampener?....

read quite a few threads about dampners.. think im definatly gonna pick one up this winter... heard some new styles have pistons now?... which is the best.. eziest to install.. not as likly to break in a laydown?.. thanks

links to buy cheap also would be great :)

I like the rotary style. I have had a Scotts, GPR and pitbull. Of the 3 I would rank the pitbull first followed by scotts then the gpr. A good damper will be able to do its job with you barely knowing its there. With the pb and scotts you could keep them turned down very far and they would still reduce ( I wont say elliminate) head shake. The GPR actually started slowing your steering action down before it was working well which I did not like.

i tell you what i bought a SPRINT and love it. works great 17 ajustments ( really only change it from street to track but nice to have) great fit and finish and way cheaper then Ohilns. IF you need further proof its the Damper that they fit on all the 06 R6's for the UK super sport class.

Rotary all the way. I personally am a fan of the Scotts / Ohlins design. The on the fly adjustments are easier too on a rotary style, where depending on the mounting position of a piston style damper, you may or may not be able to adjust it as you ride. I've also heard piston style dampers dont crash as well as mentioned above.
