'03 R6 wont start...Help

I have a '03 R6 with low mileage. The bike had to sit awhile over the winter and I just took it in for an oil change and inspection at a dealership. I never had any problems with the bike prior to this incident. I picked the bike up and took it home on a trailer. When I tried to start it all I got was a "whirrring" sound from the ingnition. The engine would not turn over. I returned to the dealer and they said its not their fault and something else is wrong with the ignition.
Anyone else have the same problem or have any suggestions?
Please help!! Thanks :help

What kind of "inspection" was it?

Did they start it? If they say yes then they fucked it up.

If they were doing a state inspection and they claim they didnt start it then ask them how and the fuck they tested the brakes.

Like Liquid was saying charge it first then try it or push start it.

The more I think about it the more im getting pissed.

I returned to the dealer and they said its not their fault and something else is wrong with the ignition.
Next time you talk to them make sure to tell em that their 'inspection' isnt worth a fuck. :furious

They are dealers and they should try to help you out instead of saying it isnt their problem.

whatever. its not coils or anything the dealer has done. stop freaking out. just charge the battery. you usually have to get a new battery per season anyway.

old batteries, although they may read that they have more than enough Voltage across the terminals after a charge, may not have enough amperage to turn the bike over. if your battery is reading that its charged up, but the bike can't crank over, its time for a new battery.

i had this problem with my bike at one point. in fact it would shut off in mid riding then i would get the whirring from the starter motor.

if i remember correctly there was a batch of r6's that the nut or bolt goin to the starter flywheel wasnt torqued to spec. this also led to the battery not getting a charge and the bike not having getting the full electrical input it should be from the stator. hence the bike shutting off abruptly sometimes as the battery would be drained and the bike isnt creating any electrical power.

i think this is the bolt you need to tighten down.

i had the same exact problem. the whirling sound also. just pop a charger on the battery and let it charge for bout an hour and start the bike up. when i got my bike it wasn't fullly charge cause the guy didn't ride it during winter. do that first and let us know wassup.

I bought my bike from a dude that prolly didnt ride that much. My bike has gone through maybe, umm, 4 tanks of gas in a little under a year, so not that much. Would this be a battery thing? My bike wont start right now...and i get a massive clicking when i try to start her up....Battery Volts read at 11.2 :thumbdown Anyways, She hasnt even gotten her first oil change yet..gay
