Went to change my oil and wanted to switch from the K&N 204 filter I was using to one of the other recommended oil filters. But I am running into an issue that has me stumped. None of the filters that say they are compatible with this bike will fit other than the K&N 204. I have tried the WIX 51358 and the Mobil1 M1-108. Both are close to a full centimeter longer than the K&N 204 which prevents the shift rod from being reattached. I confirmed that my shift rod has the OEM washer on it so that is not the issue. The shift rod is perfectly straight and not damaged in any way. I have also seen multiple other threads where 06-07 R6 owners say those filters fit. I am at a loss. Anyone have any idea what the issue is?
