Went for a spin to Crossgates yesterday to meet up with a chap off Sportsbiker.net.

Wahaay -

Up and over the Magic Mountain was ace fun, managed a stonking wheelie off the throttle past a line of cruisers :hyper

Woops -

Powering out of slightly damp left hander above Crossgates and the back end slid right out.....must have looked impressive from behind but the smell would have spoiled it :bowdown

WTF -

Coming back towards Crossgates and hard on the brakes for one of the many tight right-hand hairpin bends when the front end started to tuck under and then slide on the loose surface then 'sat up' abruptly, I grabbed a handful of front brake and went straight into a 5 bar gate ! :(
Result......a slight lack of blue on the right hand fairings, one slightly bent brake lever and a massively damaged ego.
Thankfully I fitted those crash bungs last weekend...thanks also to the chap that stopped and helped me lift her back up :thumbup

Ho hum, thats my first off.....must have been all of 25 mph. :hattip

Hope you're alright fella. Hope the bike's ok too. :)
G,
Bit of a close shave there. Glad to know your ok and the bike did not get too badly hurt.
Bloody hell G, sounds like you had a couple of heartstopping moments there.

:wtf
Pleased to hear you and the bike are ok.
Nice to see some one crashed at Guernsey speeds :hyper

Seriously though pleased it was not worse.
LOL, oh dear G. THe r1 catching you out already at dangerously low speeds.

glad you ok fella
Just had a good look at the machine, nothing else damaged :)

Bit late now I know but I checked the rear wheel alignment and it was a fekkin mile out - Steve offered to check it for me on the May Meet and I said I'd do it when i got home.....wish I had!

Thought I'd got rid of that front end tucking feeling a couple of weeks ago, certainly had no issues with it when I went for a blast last week, but yesterday the front was all "tucky" again, noticeably worse on right handers.
Now, the rear wheel was pointing slightly to the right, wonder if this was contributing to the problem?

Also going to get a new set of 207RRs so that I'm working from a stable setting.

If anyone phones the house, I DROPPED THE BIKE IN THE CARPARK....
No need for the other half to know any different !

Aww shame. Especially as you haven't had the bike long.

At least the fairing didn't crack/snap. It's got distinguished character now.
A nice little sticker will cover that up a treat, mind you that little bubble part is a bugger to get a sticker on if it isnt the right shape but its cheaper than a respray:thumbup
that'll buff out
you could just spray it and pretend it never happened
There's a sheet of wet n dry and an old can of Yamaha blue in the garage......that'll do.

Race plastic soon anyway.
G

Sorry to hear about the drop fella.
