the results of giving it the FINGER..

so as far back as january, ive been learn'n 2nd gear clutch ups. as any wheelie noob, slowly learned, getting accustomed to the jolt of speed and front end coming up. but the whole time i could never figure out why some days i would get them up like nothing, and other days, thinking my bike is just pissed off at me and wouldnt come up for the life of me. then a couple of days ago, i decided to what most have done, switch from 2 fingers to 1. man o man...who woulda thunk that clutch'n with just the index finger make so much of a difference. i know i know...just another ad-idge to what is already commonly been discovered by past noobs. Just thought id share it with ya'll. So for all the other wheelie noobs like me...it's all true. Take your time, it will eventually click.

with that said...question for the wheelie experts. how high do you place your right wrist before you crack the throttle open? just curious to see the most comfortable wheelie position once im able to get to bp, which wont be for a while. ive never looked at my tach to see how far the needle reaches while/before i flick the clutch, so i couldnt really tell you what rpm's im clutch'n. for me, it's just on feel

I tried just pulling the clutch with one finger yesterday (not wheelie-ing). I can't do it. I have small hands, but long fingers. I could pull the clutch a little, but before I reach the friction point, the back of the clutch lever hits my knuckles. If my knuckles weren't there, I still don't think my hand is strong enough to pull the clutch with 1 finger.

Eh, I don't really want to wear on the clutch to do wheelies anyways. I'll bounce.
Anahiem Hill huh? We should ride together.

I listen for the rpm and leave my hands at their normal position. Seems to work fine for me.
well...my hands arent bear claws or anything. i didnt think my finger would be able to pull in the clutch either. maybe being that im 5'5" and weigh about a buck 30 makes it easier. haha!!

whuttup karonic?! i doubt you remember ride'n together with tetsuo, getonit, and another guy (i forget his screen handle). it was a while back when we met up at the pond to practice wheelies but got kicked out before we could pull any off. sorry...dont really get to post much as you can tell, im just mostly on to check out whats going on. but ya...if the jacked up weather decides to make up its mind and stay sunny from here on out, im down to ride.
i usually just roll my wrist fwd a few degrees/inches

Cool. Thanks.
one finger works the best for me too. i've got slim fingers and didn't think id be able to pull the clutch in. but damn it does makes a difference. pretty much every time i try now she comes up.
'
lol... i just posted on another thread about 1 finger deal...

i havent posted on here in a while but, i found out that using 2 fingers. there will be days that you dont realize your still engaging the clutch.
