Well...it has happened....I have low reason to ride anymore.
Last year this time I was out every day riding. This year, I dont have motovation to go out riding as much.
Accerlating fast in a straight line only gets me so happy, I need some twisties. Too bad there are none around me.

i don't even want to know how that feels :(.

i got a little depressed for you just reading this thread..
Then it's time for the track. Save your pennies, work your ass off and plan for a trackday every 1 to 2 months. I have NO motivation to ride the street. And getting a your FIX almost every month is good enough for me.
ditto, i've got a street bike (600RR) that sits in my shop all the time, I rarely ever ride it, the track is just so much more fun
i know how you feel...no twisties around here...so i make up for it with wheelies lol...i do wish there were better spots around here tho
I've been to St. Paul and there has to be some country roads out there you haven't tapped yet. Go to a trackday. Then tell me you don't like riding.
Yep, and once you've been to the track, riding on the street is very boring and quite anti-climatic now. I don't even bother to speed or to even turn very hard. It's just sooo pointless. I only ride now to save money in gas! Transportation to and from work is all my bike does now in between race weekends.
Damn, I'm glad that I ride for more reasons than just speed and power.

Not much smells better than going past an apple orchard in full bloom. Just can't smell it in the cage very well. There's a feeling of interconnectedness that is just unavailable when you're surrounded by the disengaging safety of a cage. Nevermind actually feeling the thunder pound through your chest and resonate most of your being as you try to get home before the big storm breaks. Nevermind taking idiotic side detours because the road just looks fun....

Of course, the power and feeling of leaning is hard to beat also.
I'll be leaving the Texas Hill Country twisties everywhere...been here 5 yrs and I just found a different road this weekend (Damn I'm gonna miss it), being reassigned to Florida, the reports I've heard...Florida is pretty boring....as far as twisty roads...NONE !!! Dayum !!!!! I guess I'll have no other choice than to find me a track.
well of course its going to get boring. Don't go out riding just to shift gears, take in the sights, the smells, the environment. I know, I sound like a hippie, but I always tell myself, "Ahhh yes, take it all in, take it all in."

You just got to make the most of the little things. Don't ride as often, ride like every once a week, it will make it more "special."

I guess it really boils down to how much passion you have for the sport.
+1 for the track... or learn to wheelie :D

Don't get me wrong, Wouldn't mind a brisk sunday morning ride through the back roads and "taking it all in", but wouldn't do it in a sportbike. I really don't see myself riding another sportbike again on the street. Cops are hard ons, in a blink of an eye, I'm doing triple digits in a 35mph zone, asshole drivers, and squids ect. That right there takes any and all fun out of just "riding". Really looking into getting Motard, something that would be, imo, a little more fun where I live at...

Sorry to hear that. Hope these vids from southern California mountains will make you feel better.
that brings a tear to my eye:handclap
There are so many turns!!

PS..I'm going to college in Irvine CA.
Where are the nearest roads like that?
If I ever do get a bike out there.
Damn...I don't even think 1 time a month for trackdays would be enough for me when I start tracking...
Hey, I dont know what are you talking about....Im from MN and I can tell you that you have to try to find the twisties and they will not be outside of your door. There are plenty of twisties in MN. For example:
-US 61
-US 60 (Wabasha)
-Carver
-Winsconsin Alphabet
-many more roads...
Tracks:
-MAM (Iowa)
-Road America (Winsconsin)
-BIR (MN)
-DCTC (MN) Ridingcourse.com

If that was not enough then go to mnsportbikeriders.com to roads section....
