Ok, I just bought my bike last week and have ridden it about 10 different times. It's a 2000 Yamaha r6 with 17,000 miles. a few different times I have started my bike and and tried to put it in first and it dies right when put it in gear. One of the occasions was after filling up and I tried about 5 different times to do it and my battery ended up dying and I had to get bump started by a fellow rider. So what do you guys think?

that would be something to take a voltmeter to.

but first off, its a safety switch, the way it works is if the kickstand is down and you put it in first it kills the engine so you don't go riding off with your kickstand down. if your kickstand is up and it dies then there is something wrong with the switch itself. thats when you use the voltmeter
