Sucks dude. That rash looks like it's pretty fun, but I'm glad it wasn't worse.
I'm interested in those twisties you speak of. Maybe we can meet up some day...

Hurley its def a nice road to get down and dirty on. Whenever you come up to the boston area hit one of us up. Other than zipphreak's accident today was a good time, kinda made me fall in love with my r1 all over again.Hurley said:Sucks dude. That rash looks like it's pretty fun, but I'm glad it wasn't worse.

Hurley, that was definetly me man, I just didn't know you were on the r6mn at the time.. I forgot if i asked you or not, but hell yeah i remember that. When I get insurance to fix this shit I'm down for some riding. No reason to give up over one baby crash, just have to take it as it is, and take the crazy shit to the track in a more controlled environment.zipphreak, I was just looking at your sig and it reminded me of someone on a similar bike who let me use their cell phone in a Burger King parking lot last Summer. I was on my silver R6. That wasn't you, by any chance? Random, I know.
I've had many many laps around these twisties in the past three weeks and was very familiar with them... It really had nothing to do with too much lean, i had a perfect lean going into the turn, and just happen to come out of the turn where a car had slung up a decent sized rock onto the middle of the road. Instant low-side. I had no chance to fight it or bring it back up, the rock sent it over hard and fast. Probably slid a good 10-15 ft tooWell sounds like you pushed too hard, the curve will all ways win. I press curves a bit,but don't really test the limits.
I have no problem fixing my bike and have done all the maintenance and shit on it myself. The question is not me fixing it here, it's the insurance company and the dealer. See I do ride with insurance, and full coverage unlike some people :thumbup . This is one of those important times where you actually need it. Now if I can get a dealer do it for me for x amount of $$ and I can do it for y amount $$, I would definetly fix it myself because most of the shit is easily replaceable, and im comfortable working on my 6. Now I just gotta try to find the most rediculous estimate anywhere :whistleif you fix your own bike-I don't think you take as many chances because you just don't want to fuk it up . it's just too hard to fix and cost way to much dough
Do east coasters not wear leathers? Thanks guys for the support, the road rash is burning but I'm still alive and live to ride another day. I just can't stress how important GEAR is to everyone, and now from my experience if your going over 20mph, leather pants are a must if your riding hard.
Small world, huh? It was your turn signals and the radar detector that made me think it was you.zipphreak said:Hurley, that was definetly me man, I just didn't know you were on the r6mn at the time.. I forgot if i asked you or not, but hell yeah i remember that.
Ohh boy another one, I was wearing all my gear except I didn't have leather pants.. I was saving up for a 2-peace leather suit in the upcoming month tooDo east coasters not wear leathers?
Maybe, maybe not I hit up many twisties before with them and as long as I kept them sticky they kept me on the road.. Maybe you didn't read the crash post about the rock? But yah 90% of the damage is cosmetic to the plastics.im sorry but, hittin twisties on the stocker dunlops is like playing russian roulette (sp?)
