After having owned a string of black cars, I was looking for something to protect my black R6 from paint damage caused by road debris. I had a friend apply clear 3M vinyl film to the front and I am very pleased with the results. It's difficult to see the film, but that's the whole point.

Here's a close-up where you can see the cut-outs for the windshield screws:

I am not a fan of tank protectors because they all seem like an afterthought and I have not seen a single one that is attractive. He covered my tank from the seat to under the airbox cover. If you look closely, you'll see the area surrounding the fuel door has been cut out. I like the idea of coverage around the fuel area so that spillage doesn't take off the wax:

You can see the film a little better in this photo. It's not a different color, though it appears so due to the lighting:

The film can be washed and waxed just like ordinary paint. Though it will discolor and eventually turn yellow, the bike will be an antique by the time that happens.

This stuff is a great way to protect your fairings and headlights.

Oh, here's the obligatory n00b 'I just got my bike!' photo:

After the film was applied, I installed frame and swingarm sliders as well as LED flushmounts. I am also furiously tracking the progress of my additional parts through UPS.

Send an email to [email protected] (eBay Seller) with the year, make and model and he will post up an ebay auction for you.
Does he make a piece for the '06 undertail? I've already got a few rock chips under there, and it'd be nice to prevent further damage.
