I have over 16,500 on my 05 and my friend has over 30,000 on his 04 and both bikes are still running like new. As long as the owner doesn't beat the piss out of the bike, it will last long.

I'm new to the R6, but I met a guy at the Slimey Crud Run a while ago who was riding a ~1978 BMW. The bike had about 48,000 miles on it and about 35,000 when he bought it. He said he was at a rally and a guy recognized the bike and said, "Hey, I used to own that bike, did you know the odometer has turned twice on it?" The bike had about 250,000 miles on it and was still running strong and the old guy was kicking my a** in the twisties.

i feel like I have to hit it on my 06 r6 at least once during a ride, normally to about 15.5k rpm, normally i shift at about 7k, thats not abusing this bike right?

Its a 10 month old 06 r6 with 7126k, stock everything except loosing the flying alien, oh and untill last weekends ride, had a decent condition rear tire, now I need to replace it.

I do not ride aggresivally unless I am in the twisties, seen way way too many people tear their bikes up, and still have about 4 years of payments left.

i might be in the wrong (didnt read it all ) anyway i had a 01 with 45k on it ran like new still have pics somewhere? insurance co gave me $4500 for it when it got smashed. i bought the bike new , and just did the oil changes and it still ran and looked like new. i guess it would depend on who you buy the bike from , i would have a prob buying a bike from some people where the bike would only have 2k and others i would buy their bike with no probs if it had 50k on it, all depends on the situation.

good job crispy. all you gotta do is take care of your sh*t. i use to have a 5.0 back in high school days , changed the oil when due and took care of it , 175k and that was a ford. most people dont take care of their sh*t. i dated a girl once who didnt know anything about a oil change.

Thanks the F2 was ok the seat slanted to the tank not so comfy.

It's all about the maintenance , most sportbikes don't get to live to a ripe old age as owners tend to kill them early .

I had a Cbr 900rr. When i bought it, it had 14,000. After 2 years i put another 40,000 on her. When i sold her she had 44 and she still ran like a tank. All it takes is good maintenance.
