Gear for my girl

The time has come at last for my girl to get her bike. We're still trying to decide on what bike, but in the mean time she wants to take her MSF course, and would like to have her own gear for it. So on to the questions:

She really likes the AStars Dyno women's jacket, but it's not perforated or vented at all, and that could get old really quick in the 90 degree, 70% humidity during the summer here in Dayton.

Also, she likes the new KBC VR-2 helmets, and I've had good experience with KBC helmets, but how's the venting on their new stuff? I know my VR-1s that I've had haven't been very good with the venting, but they've been phenominal (for the price) for everything else.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

i only have input on the icon kitty jacket. i like it. i dont think any of the leathers jackets are nice in the hot weather. lol. i also have the alpinestars suit. they are cut small.
I'm a little leary of putting her in Icon gear, simply because of the very mixed reviews (crash durability) I've read about it. Nothing but the best for my baby. :D We (Katie and I) both understand that leather gear is going to be rather warm, but I was wondering, in particular, if there is anything out there that would be an equivalent to my AStars SMX AirFlo jacket (fully perforated, and vents really well).
AGV Sport has really nice Suits / Jackets, I know some people who have "tested" them and they held up real well. Generally they were even repairable. Another good brand is Shift. They're well made and hold up well in wrecks (though AGV is better). MotoGP makes some good stuff aswell... I wouldn't recommend Joe Rocket, their products have a tendency to fall apart :lol
I hear that on the Joe Rocket stuff. I got rid of all of my JR stuff awhile ago, for that very reason. I'll check into the AGV and MotoGP stuff, thanks!
np, mang :thumbup I understand wantin' to keep a perty lady safe :badger
I actually heard that the icon stuff does pretty well......the leather stuff......I heard that the jeans and boots and mesh stuff falls apart....... I am pickin up draggin jeans and sidi doha boots for the both of us as well as a pursuit jacket in black. I heard the perforation on the pursuit jacket works pretty well and that it holds up pretty well too.......
I bought my girl the dyno jacket for Christmas. I'll see if she can give you her thoughts on it in the next couple days here.

That would be GREATLY appreciated! :thumbup
The little woman talked me into a Stella Ice Astar jacket, also, will get back to ya on how she likes this jacket.

Thanks man!

She agreed to write up some stuff for you, just have to get her to sit down and do it now....hopefully later tonight.
The new VR-2's are supposed to be very nice for the $215-$250 price tag. I might pick up the red dragon model w/ the gold vents for track days. In person that helmet SICK. The one helmet out now that is a supposedly a better value (at the price range) are the Scorpion EXO-700 and even 400.

Also check on some of the moto gp gear. They have the corkscrew and something else in women's sizes. Really nice jackets, just as good and I look better (imo) than the A*'s stuff.
You say you want to lean away from icon stuff but I have just read some more reviews on their leather stuff holding up well and I know a lot of stunters who use Icon stuff........I am leaning towards the pursuit perforated leather jacket for my girl. I will probably pick up an Icon helmet for her too cause I crashed with mine and Im not brain dead......I think..........
You could always get her the helmet I have :lol

Like I said, the reviews for Icon gear are... mixed. Some people love the stuff, but others have had less positive experiences. I'd rather not chance it on gear that gets 50% positive reviews. And I don't know if I'd take gear advice from the stunter crowd either... :lol
I HAVE THE ALPINESTARS dyno 2 mens jacket which has zips in each arm and back of shoulder (does the womens one not have these?) for ventilation and they work realy well. when it gets cold just do them up again. Been down the road at 70 mph and it was fine (shame about the missing piece of knee cap though). It has removable warm lining and plenty of pockets. Logos are reflective and it has all the usual armour and foam back pad which can be upgraded. Ive riden virtualy every day for the last 4 years in all weather, had minor offs in snow plus crash mentioned above and its looking well used but still good.

I meant to suggest this to Cephas earlier. :lol Heres the lid he's talking about: http://www.r6messagenet.com/forums/showthread.php?t=88365

I got my girlfriend an A* Dyno jacket and a pair of A* gloves for a great price from a guy on Ebay. Both were only worn once or twice and the quality is top notch. Its one of the nicest jackets for the chicks in my opinion.
Yeah, we both really like that Dyno jacket, but I'm still concerned about venting. I didn't see where it has any zippers to open for it to vent.

Hopefully my girl can type something up for you tonight. I got home way too late last night to have her do it. It does have vents under the arms and on the back of the shoulders.
