Frame Question

My question is would you replace the whole frame over this.
When I wrecked my bike, the front cowling came off, and when this happened, it took off the "nub" on the frame. As far as i can tell its basically just a guide, a way to line up your front stay when putting it back onto the frame. I know someone has to have had this happend to them so please fill me in. Anything will help.

you'll be fine using that frame. there's no way in hell i'd replace the frame just because that piece broke off.

+1
Hold on...that is totally normal. It is where they broke that headtube piece off from the casting tree (like a model airplane part from the plastic "tree"). I noticed that on my '02 when I was doing the head bearings. :thumbup

Had to make the picture big so you could see the detail.

Not quite sure about that. I could be completely wrong though, but it does act as a guide of sorts when putting on the fairling stay.

To OP: Mine broke off too; no problems with 12+k miles on it since.
Well thank you guys for the quick replies. I was pretty sure that it was no big deal, but I'm just a worrier and dont want to rig shit up. Oh and ya Raidersix that is a huge ass picture :)
