But I thought MotoGP bikes are not allowed to be based on any road going machine? Is this alright because this version of the Desmo is based on the first gen Ducati MotoGP bike? I am thinking this bike is going to be made just enough to meet WSB rules like the R7. I think it is 500 units.

On the MotoGP prototype only rules, its a moot point because the rules are changing for next year to 800cc machines which will be an all new design.

Whatever you think, it is a serious looking piece of machinery.
