Clutch rattle

Hello again all!

I have been riding again post 600 mile service and I have noticed a couple of things. The bike is much harder to stall from launch. There seems to be less low-mid range power, but mid-high now screams. That stuff is all cool. I have noticed a rattle that I can make go away by pressing the clutch. Sometimes, if I clutch a few times in and out it goes away. In my car, they said it was a throw out bearing and clutch going bad. It sounds the exact same.

Does anyone else have the neutral with clutch out rattle?

Thanks again!

i would remove the clutch cover and inspect the clutch plates.
Mine has been making the noise for quite some time also. No idea tho. My clutch has been acting shitty lately. Very wierd, uncommon with a clutch going bad. Id like to know what this is also

uncommon ,not true friction plates break all the time. inspect and replace if needed. not a hard task or continue riding around with a broke bike and complain about it.
I would say that it is uncommon for my clutch to go bad at 700 miles.

I have an 05, and yup, I have this rattle in N with the clutch out. Bring the clutch in.. the rattle goes away. I'm pretty sure I've read in some old post that this is normal behavior.. just the clutch plates rattling around a bit.

Anyone with more technical knowledge care to confirm?

Same with my 05'. Its done it since it was broken in.

Cool... I won't sweat it then!

Thanks!
i agree with normal operation. if you have ever driven a car with a multi plate clutch, you will hear the same noises.
The clutch noise you are hearing in neutral is normal.

Don't worry about it.
Yeah, mine does the same -- sounds like a dry clutch (like on a Ducati) -- so it can't be toooo bad.
:dance My clutch rattles too, A old time mechanic said the clutch basket can rattle almost brand new in N. I guess the R6 is a bit of a beast with werid rattle sounds that are normal. I am replacing the cam tensioner that isn't making sounds anyway-now that i know how to change it. The best thing to keep these tiny engine running perfect is mostly to run amsiol 10-40 syn in it and change the oil every 1000 miles or so- I use Boshe3323 extra long syn filter media oil filter too and clean the air filter with a K+N kit often. My engine runs very strong and is jetted with ivans abd pipe with aka full system and tuned with carbon 11 syn tool set at 4,000 rpm.
