Can New Motorcycles be Negotiated?

I'm in the market for a new motorcycle, but have always wondered if they can be negotiated like cars? If so, what's the lowest you got your new 2006 Yamaha R6 for? Thanks in advance.

Always negociable, yes, but when a product is in short supply and great demand, it is harder. Dealer prep and freight are always negociable and can vary from zero to $1k
the thing is, when you walk into a dealership, and know you want to buy something, your probably going to buy it that day, but you need to play the game with the sales rep, let him know how freaking bad you want the bike, and your willing to make a down payment, i guarrentee hes not gonna let you leave the building without selling the bike, and your not gonna wanna leave without buying it, SO, get a price in your head ( a reasonable one) what you wanna pay, and then dont take shit from the sales rep, they will negotiate and come down in price for a sale, good luck, tell us how it works out!

i just go in and pay for it. i don't have time to play hard to get.

Lawyercuzitpays is a douche.

I dont know of much in this day and age that ISN'T negotiable, it just depends on your leverage and desire to "jew" them down.

:wink
Of course you can negotiate on a new bike. Cost + 20 is ideal. All that you have to pay is tax, lic & doc fees. You should not be charged freight and setup fees. Thats a bunch of B.S! Here's a copy of the invoice price for the 06's. Print this out and use in your power towards your purchase!

No shit, I would laugh and kick your ass out of the dealer if you told me you wanted to pay $20 over invoice. Hello, the sales rep isn't paid with jellybeans and you know the dealer does have expenses? That is of course if the dealer is selling from a location and not the back of a van.
MSRP on the 03 here in Canada was $11,599 and I got mine for $10,800. Buddy of mine bought his 03 at the same dealer for $10,300 :)furious) so yes prices are negotiable.
Aside from my unleavened goo being gone...

Yes, it does, not WAY over, but I was incorrect.
Who said $20?! I never put a dollar sign in my original post. Yeah, I meant 20%!

AE: $8084 +20% = $9700.80 otd
Raven: $7918 +20%=$9501.6 otd
Blue: $7835 +20%=$9402 otd

I got my blue 06 for $9823.xx otd because I added the $5,000 Theft Protection Plan. Sure comes in handy now since it's gone. So now my next 06 R6 is only going to cost me $4402 otd! :thumbup

If you guys don't want to believe me that it's possible, it's not my money, it's yours. Go spend more than $10,500+ on a 600 and get charged, freight, set up, tire tax, etc. Just don't forget to bring the KY or the Preperation H b/c it's going to be a long ride home w/out it! :blahblahb
Ok, so im only half-a-tard.

It is 20%. Because even at $9204.00 otd for the blue, is less than the $9199.00, after you add freight, set-up, taxes, et al.

Freight, set-up, tire tax and all the other nonsense fee's are just B.S. The only things manditory to pay are Tax, Lic, and Document fees...nothing else. I know in California, the dealership can't sell you a crated motorcycle to then have it registered but in other states they can.

Like I said in my 1st post, Cost + 20% is ideal. If you can get it lower then more power to ya but if most of you go to your dealer, don't haggle, pay MSRP + tax, lic doc, b.s fees then starting bitching about it later you have no one to blame but yourself.

Good luck shopping! :hattip
hell yeah they can
Thanks everyone for the help.
My local dealer is getting me my R6 Raven at 8K... no tax... but I gotta pay to title/license. (Friend has bought from them a long time and is purchasing a dirtbike/atv at the same time I purchase the bike)
You guys are all tools on the coasts. Next time you want a bike, check this out. I got my last bike there, and they do a ton of business in the midwest.

Now that's cheap, but totally unegotiable.

And those prices dont include all the B.S. that we are trying to avoid.
