Hey all, I got my Arai RX7-RR4 a few months ago and im havin some problems with it. The front bottom trim flew off on the freeway and the top attachment piece is comin off a little bit. Just wondering if anybody has sent their helmet to arai for repair or warranty issues and how did it come back, how much did it cost, and how long did it take to get back? thanks.

I'm just curious:
Where did you purchase the helmet from and how long ago?
I've seen this problem with Arai helmets before, too. I wonder if it's an incorrect epoxy they use, or if it's just poor construction.

Luckily this hasn't happened to mine, but then it may be just a matter of time. Mine is a Quantum2, so maybe it's just certain models. Anyway this sounds to me like a factory defect, I'd say if you take the helmet back to where you got it, they can contact the Arai distributor and get it taken care of.
the bottom piece started to come off on mine yesterday too! it's the second time i've worn it too!:furious i think i'm just going to glue it back on though.

Well i bought mine off ebay from a legit store. Amazing helmet i love the thing and I wanted this one because I dont like any other helmet. lol But its 5 years old so its past manufacturers warranty and being that its 5 years old I think the glue isnt gonna hold as well.

i was just trying to glue it back on a few minutes ago. the second i touched it the whole piece fell off! now i'm pretty irritated the whole thing fell off considering how much i paid for it and it's literally the second time i've worn it.

i'm going to call the place i bought it from and see how long it will take if i send it back to arai. i'm going to do another track day in two weeks and i'm going to be pissed if i don't have a helmet by then.
Yea thats what sucks cause I heard their return time on helmets is 6 weeks! And I dont want to send my lid away for six weeks and wear a crappy hjc.
I am sending back my simpson helmet because the rubber is broken-you have nothing to lose except shipping

If the helmet is 5 years old it's due for replacement. The lifespan of Arai and Shoei helmets, that is the lifespan in which the companies can gaurantee proper head protection, is 5 years. After that, UV light from the sun has done some damage to the resin in the composite, things are wind beaten and starting to wear. You got 5 good years out of it, time for a new lid.
ive had 3 arai rx7 corsairs... none of them have ever done this...
on a side note... if your buying the RR4s you are buying a pretty old helmet... it is the helmet that was replaced with the Corsair.

in essesnce you are buying an older model that could have been sitting on a shelf or in a warehouse someplace. arai will warranty the helmet to 5 years based on the date that it was manufactured. that date is printed on the strap of the helmet.
the shop i bought it from said the turn around time varies. and they're closed until wednesday so that doesn't help me any.

if the turn around time is really more than a couple of weeks, i may just go buy another shoei. i loved my old rf-1000 and i really do not want to wait more than a couple of weeks to get my helmet back.
Yea my RR4 sat on the shelf for a few years and I think the glue started comin off. But i love this helmet too much and paid too much for it to just buy another one. Im down for getting it fixed ive only had it for 2 months.
