Anybody running VP leaded race gas?

I know this might sound like a cheesy question but I'm trying to meeting a dyno dealine on June 10/11. I'm going to get a custom map for my 06 with a Akra full race, PCIIIusb and a race filter(if I can get a BMC by then). If it doesn't come in, the I'm just going to hack the stock one.

So has anybody ran VP U4 leaded gas or any other leaded gas in their 06 yet? I'm going to pull the 02 sensor for the run but are there any other adverse effects that the leaded gas might affect?

I dont like U4 , (personal preference) but I run c12 and also MS103 in mine,
I have the same setup as you minus the filter.

I ran the U4 just didnt like it even though it is a good fuel, just oo much to deal with , when using it
leaded fuel isn't going to help your dyno run and if you're going to run it you need to commit to using it exclusively. if you can't or don't want to do that don't bother with it.

correct, most racers (car, bike whatever) use it for it consinsity. Pump gas is always differnt so it can change you tune slightly.

Thats the one thing I was worried about. If I did the custom map with the race gas, then running conventional pump gas might have some downfall.

Another cheesy question, so if i did the dyno run with pump gas but then go with higher octane unleaded gas would that throw things off on my bike?
I don't know if you still have the catalyst on your bike, but if you do still have the catalytic coverter, the leaded gas will poison it. I would remove the catalytic coverter prior to running unleaded gas.
Hey Arnold. How about get tuned on the race gas, save that map, and run another street map for pump gas?

Get some C109 and tune on that, great stuff. I use it in all the Rx7's that go through my shop.

A wankel rotary is totally different than a 600cc piston type R6 motor....

Be damn sure to post up that map pretty please with sugar and cherries on top...

That is an extremely popular triple combo you've got there, akra, pcIIIusb, bmc filter. I'm assuming you're going for the full EVO exhaust correct?

And while we're on the same subject, do you think your map would be identical if regardless if you got the stainless evo exhaust vs. the titanium evo exhaust?

Thanks and nice bike...

Well it's going to be a custom map from Louie @ L&L Motorsports. I'm not sure if he's going to map my bike and give it to me on a cd or what not. I'll have to see... Also custom maps vary from area too so a nice tuned map from San Diego might not run correctly if downloaded to a bike in a higher elevation, barametric pressure, etc. I don't think it'll make any difference in terms of EVO vs race. I think the YEC Akrapovic system has different runners though compared to the Akra EVO.

It's not the EVO but rather the race system. The EVO is full titanium while the race is SS headers/mid pipe. I couldn't pass up $850/Akra full race! The EVO was like $1300 and it wasn't worth in my eyes.

Jeff, I'm going to do the run with the race gas. A couple members here mentioned that the bike will be ok with the pump gas. It'll just run slightly lower in power.
i dont see a point in doing a run on race gas unless you have an ignition advancer. if anything, a map made from 87 octane MAY produce more power. it may not thought. but as you get higher in octane, you get lower in potenial energy and longer in burn time...
