I was on the a website today that said running your engine at over 190 degrees is not good for it. I live in Florida, unless I am running over 40MPH it will get to that temp most of the time. My question is this, Has anyone heard of and what do you think about a manual switch for the fan? Will it help, hurt or make no difference?

In the manual it says the temp should be between 195 and 205 when idling and the fans turn on at 212 for me at least. I think as long as you're under/around 220 on a hot day you're good. However i don't think a manual switch will hurt but i'm not an expert.

I've got a manual switch for my fan (2001) and it helps on those hot days, however, if i'm sitting at a long ass light or a train crossing i cut it off anyways. To me, the manual switch isnt worth it, i never ride in shorts so the heat doesnt bother me.
