I have searched for the forum for some info and I have a few questions. I understand one way to get around this is to switch clusters so the bike has 7500 miles on it, are there guys on these forums that would be willing to help me out with something like this in the Long Beach CA, area.
My second option is to have my sister who lives in AZ register the bike in her name, but if I get pulled over and the bike is registered out of state am I going to be ticketed or have my bike impounded?
my bike is registerred in FL and I ride it in DE. No problems so far.D duck said:The second method is more likely to get you screwed as you take a chance everytime you ride.
DE also dosent have the CHP, we have pretty strict rules on stuff like that.Firetire said:my bike is registerred in FL and I ride it in DE. No problems so far.
He is referring to swapping the gauges to make it look like there are the required amount of miles. If you bypass the laws they have in place to try and register a bike that is not California approved and/or does not have the mileage necessary...and they find out...they can impound and destroy it.PepeRB29 said:wait a second, so if i decide to go on a road trip on my bike, and i drive through cali and i get ticketed, they can impound my bike and destroy it???? how the hell does this work, doesn't seem too right to me, there has to be a loop hole, there is one for everthing, you just gotta read EVERY LAW on the books
key word is smuggling. Your not smuggling/importing illegally if your just driving through or visiting.PepeRB29 said:wait a second, so if i decide to go on a road trip on my bike, and i drive through cali and i get ticketed, they can impound my bike and destroy it???? how the hell does this work, doesn't seem too right to me, there has to be a loop hole, there is one for everthing, you just gotta read EVERY LAW on the books
