So I’ve heard the r6 and do like 166-175 6th gear (if there’s enough road and if you can handle the wind drag), but my bike is at 14,000rpm doing 130. Which if my math is correct I’d be at 18,000rpm to even get to 166 which is way past redline (16,500) which to me seems like 6th gear is super short.
Is my gearing off or is my clutch slightly slipping at higher speeds for some reason or is 6th gear shorter on newer models.
I had a 2006 r6 and I hit 142 and it wasn’t close to redline

Hey dirty, I figure you are talking about the 2017-2020 r6? If you're in 6th at 14k and only at 130 then something is off. I have a 2020, 4000mi on her, have ran top speed test a few times. She will pull to 157-158 quite easily then falls off (which is what they're suppose to do) and speedo is inaccurate so its actually slower. Have not GPS tracked it yet.
I have not changed either sprocket. Only power adder is M4 street slayer slip on

To make these bikes hit 160+ you would need some engine work and a remap
