Decided to modify my 06 auxiliary light.....I like it a lot better now. Also, that is headlight mesh on the headlights. (I gotta clean the bike though).

Yeah, after an 1100 mile ride...she got a little dirty. I'm happy with the way it turned out though...
i was thinking about modding that light too... thinkin about maybe changing the bulb to red to give the bike more of the red accent that it already has... wat do u guys think and i was looking at it and couldnt figure out how i would go about changing it... any1 have any idea???
what did you do to it?
To change the bulb you have to:

Remove mirrors.
Remove windscreen.
Remove rubber grommet on top of auxiliary light (located under windscreen)
Remove phillips screw.

After that, you should be able to pull out the light and change the bulb.

I took the lens off the auxiliary light and used a black paint pen and colored the whole thing, leaving just the circle and tuning forks to light up...instead of the whole entire thing.

:handclap Nothing on the headlight fix yet? LOL I've been working on mine I think you can drop the reflector down about a 1/2" and it will be the same as the other side and then wire up low beams and high beams!

I have them aimed the same, it's just the bright side still appears brighter. Part of the problem is that the shield that covers the high beam bulb is smaller and has a notch in it that exposes more of the bulb allowing more light to shine out.

I'll work on it some more.....no rush though. The projector transplant would be easy....but I dont think it would look good...and it'd be too expensive for people to do.
Yeah the projector won't look good. The shield is smaller thats why i lowered it about 1/2" and its seems to be in line with the other shield now I jus have to figure out how to get the low and high beams figured out. :thumbup

i was thinking about making a carbon fiber piece for the center and eliminating the light itself. any thoughts?
that looks pretty sweet, maybe i will do it.
Sorry to hijack... but since talking about 06 light mod, here is pic of projector 06 headlight. Well, I think it's not finish yet.

What projectors did you use? Looks OK? I'd have to see it on the bike to tell I was thinking about using the R1 projectors maybe but right now I don't know.

They are 03-05 Projectors that were polished....or at least what they look like. Saw this on R6-Forum too.....

IMO............. :barf (As long as you are happy with it though.)

The other problem is, if they are 03-05 projectors....anyone interested in doing this has to spend an arm and a leg in order to buy an 03-05 headlight just for the projectors.....then any type of conversion (or even just projector retrofit) becomes too damn expensive :thumbdown
Like what I said I would like to get the lights fixed that would be the best thing!

I think that will look sexy...paint the reflector housing black, also I think the projector housing should also be black. I think it will look really good when finished
