Default Check your third-gear speed on Cypress

This morning, on Cypress, between the works yard sweeper and the first hairpin, a woman with a gun. A radar gun. Hiding behind an SUV on the south side of the road.

Default damn

was it a cop? or a speed granny?

i usually save it for a little further up the hill; that works hairpin is usually pretty dirty and busy from all the mountain bikers hanging out mid corner...

Default Law

Rookie cop. The kind with no discretion. The only reason she didn't get me was pure luck: I was a little suspicious of the group of cars pulled over. She really glared at me as I passed her. Those downhill mountain bikers are hilarious: they seem to do more standing around than anything else.

Default flat

I'd say that the works turn is not tight enough to be called a hairpin. More importantly, the other day I got a flat on Cypress: two small cuts right in the middle of the rear tire and no sign of what made them. Had to use CO2 and two plugs. What's a speed granny?

those old grandfathers and grandmothers who are "concerned citizens" and are somehow affiliated with the cops, and sit there and check your speed, more to just say that they're not going to put up with the speed, than to give you a ticket.
