Bike but rain =>Car

Folks, I just have a quick question. Since its winter and raining season, it's time to use the car again. I need a "major" maintenance for the old Toyota Camery. Anyone knows about decent autoshop in Vancouver or Richmond area that don't rip off..... :smokin ?

Well, i've got a mechanic friend who takes on cars in the hours after work; he's allowed to use the tools and lift at his shop. he charges ~$35/hr, guarantees his work, and gives you the parts for about cost. He used to work on ferraris and other exotics in victoria, but now lives/works in whistler. if you can get your car up to him, its definitely worthwhile. (you can take the bus /hitch hike if you can't get a ride...

I'll put it this way- $600 got me: a new exhaust from the headers back, new brake pads all around, the rear drums turned, and new front rotors, a new boot for my front CV joint, new sparkplugs, a full tuneup, and air filter, and all the bearings repacked, a stereo install, and his labour, (about 8 hours)...

its jonny, he's a super good friend of mine, so don't feel uncomfortable calling him.

whistler's 1.5 hours from vancouver up highway 99, and its a fun drive. its opening weekend at blackcomb, so you could even get some skiing/snowboarding in.
