Default I need advice from west Canada

Vancouver or Calgary?

that's the question that my girlfriend have to answer. She have to choose between these two cities for her training course during may and june in a french school. (she study to be a teacher for student that have difficulties). She really don't know which one to choose.

She will have the chance to practice her english; ( we are francophone); and after our study, we really want to move to west canada or Ontario. But before, we want to see both of them, but now, she have to choose only one of them.

I really want to move to west canada it really seem a good place to live. isn't it? We are tired to be here in Quebec.

How long it's take between Vancouver and Calgary?

Thanks guy

It's about a 12hrs drive to Vancouver from Calgary. I live in calgary and been here all my life, but i also have a lot of family that has moved to vancouver in the past 10yrs. It be a hard decision for me, Calgary's a great city close to the mountains a quite a bit to do. Cheaper housing compared to Vancouver but the way things are going it may not be very different soon, lol. I've been to vancouver and enjoyed it a lot. I guess it depends what you're looking for.

Vancouver is nicer in the winter, if that makes a difference. Calgary was COLD in February, when I was there.

If the choice were mine, I'd go to Vancouver, if only for the province. Alberta (not Albertans, I want to make that distinction clear) is like our Texas. Too far right for my tastes. Calgary is a nice city, though, and I hear job prospects are pretty good. Still, I'd go to Vancouver.

Depends what you are looking for really. Calgary has beautiful summers, can get quite cold at times in the winter. Vancouver has nice summers and very mild winters with lots of rain. I hate rain, so my choice would be Calgary. Also, being from a small town, I can't stand how busy Vancouver is. I prefer Calgary.
