Hello fellow R6's
Hi my name is Aaron. I own a 2007 R6.
I don't have an up 2 date picture of it but this one is from a few weeks ago before some new mods. I would take a picture of it now but it's not together.
I know this is the intro section but I cant post in the other sections yet so hopefully someone sees this today.
Also the second picture of a harness is what I need help with. I purchased a gear indicator from eBay. The device is wired for testing but is not recognizing neutral. I used the wiring diagram I found on here which showed the light blue/white wire was the neutral switch so I used a wire tap to jump off it and have had no luck. I cant tap or get down to the one behind the rear spring/shock. If anyone knows if the wire I tapped is incorrect and can point me to the right wire I would be grateful. Thanks
Edit I originally had it connected to the light blue/white wire on the white harness then tried the blue/white wire on the black harness and neither have worked.
Well after 2 hours of shoving my fat hand with small parts into places they shouldn't be I managed to wire tap the neutral switch behind the rear shock/spring and successfully tapped off of it. Took it for a test spin and what do you know it was damn near perfect. Missed 4th gear once but otherwise worked very well. Only detects 1st when I double tap 1st, one push is unsuccessful. And this GI is designed to detect 8 gears and I managed to place the up shift sensor perfect to where even if I pull up to shift into the none existent 7th the GI doesn't move into 7th. Over all I'm happy with it. I don't plan to use it every shift but its helpful when you've been riding for some time and have forgotten what gear your in and can't quite sound and feel the gear so a quick glance and boom you know what gear.
