Default Hello! Soon to be a R6 owner! I have a few Questions!

Hello everyone I plan on getting my 3rd bike and i believe it is going to be an 05 Yamaha Blue R6. I will be trading my 04 yamaha yfz450 for it. Good- It has 8k on it and some ugly chrome windscreen, everything else is stock. Bad- it has some dents in the gas tank, and i would want to replace it. I found a few on ebay, but how hard are they to install? He also mention that the slider box needed to be replaced? Anyone know what that is? Im not sure he said slider, but i know he said box....I'm assuming i can get those done for around 600 bucks so i should be coming out pretty good. After i take care of those two i want to get some kind of shorty exhaust. I have looked on here and I like the GP style, def. the HR1 riot, but its expensive, any other suggestions?

and if anyone knows about the slider box please let me know! Thanks and I look forward to logging on to the site very often, however, i dont know how much ill Post, but I look at ALOT of threads!!

Well i got back in contact with the dude, he said it was the throttle, it stuck sometimes and i should look to get a new throttle assembly. Anyone know a ball park range for it? How hard would it be to install?

dude... if its going to be that much trouble... don't buy the bike... new throttle assembly plus install will run you at least $500.
Unless you're getting some ridiculously good deal on the bike... look else where.
Check out the "for sale" section on this forum... bunch of guys selling their bikes... you can use that as a guide or comparison.
