Deal's Gap is being patrolled by two cops daily, three on weekends. They will clock you in curves and since it is "basically" a 1 way road, they will wait for you to come back and pull you over. I suggest continuing on past the lake at the end if you feel you might have been clocked. Find another way out, the Tennessee speeding tickets are over $200.
I know this because I asked the cop after being clocked at 49 in a 30 in a curve, he wrote me a warning ticket though. I don't think I would have been so lucky if he would have clocked me at 50 or more.
Caesar's Head is NOT being patrolled as far as I know. I went on a Saturday mid-day, the most likely time for patrol, and did not see one blue&white. Also Hwy 178 towards Brevard, North Carolina was not patrolled.
