If you're an animal person, this is a great opportunity to come out and show support for our furry friends in need. GCGS, a state licensed Animal Sanctuary is run by a 63 year old woman who has devoted much of her life to the care of animals. Each day she gets up at 5:30 am and tends to over 200 animals, sometimes by herself. What is needed is people who can volunteer to help with duties and up-keep (even if once in a while). Donations are also desperately needed to help feed and care for the animals. I know this woman and she has been in Sun Sentinel articles and other newspaper stories for years. She is not wealthy by any stretch. Just a person who cares for animals and does something about it.
Then, we'll all hop on our rides and take a 26 mile ride to the Sanctuary to meet the the animals and the lady who runs the sanctuary. There will be food and drinks available, the sanctuary is a really beautiful place to visit and promises to be a great family oriented good time for all....for a great cause!
Island Jacks Bar & Grill is is helping promote this event as well as several other South Florida bikers groups.
