I'm in clarksburg, about 110 miles north of Charleston. 110 miles of boring ass interstate, crawling with cops.

There are some pretty decent roads up in my neck of the woods, I can't say that I know much about Charleston's backroads.

Check out Rt.60 from the Kanawa Falls all the way to White Sulphur Springs. It was a 70 mile trip just to get to the Falls. It was the best ride this side of the Dragons Tail. Very much worth the droning ride to get there and back. There some good rides around here locally. Drop me a line and maybe I can help you find some good pavement. Welcome to West by God Virginia! And yeah, the locals aren't the best at accepting you with open arms, but once you get to know them, usually they are really nice. I'm over in Fayetteville - about an hour or so from Charleston. There are some great rides around here! Here's the link to the Rt 60 ride:

Word of caution - DO NOT SPEED THROUGH GAULEY BRIDGE! The assholes down there set up speed traps all the time. It goes from 35 to 55 to 45 within a mile or so. I'm unfortunately speaking from experience.
