if you're addressing WA, then we have a mixture... east of the mts and its all flats and straight. no civilians for miles over there; good for practicing wheelies i guess. west of the mts. is city life, with very few straight flat terrain. not too many good twisties up here either, you have to really drive a distance to get to a few.

how many months a year can one ride in and around portland?
there might be work for me up there, but only if the 6 can go with.

For me, I only had to give up the bike for a rainy/cold stretch that lasted a couple weeks in December. I have been riding for 12 of the last 12 months. It's wet a lot, but there are many other places in the country where you cannot add up as many miles on the bike.

I disagree...I live in eugene and its MAYBE 5 months out of the year...its been snowing and freezing...so that makes it a bit rough to ride...and I don't ride in the rain either, I will get hurt
