RALLY NEWS UPDATE - May 2008
200 MILE POKER RUN - The Gorge has so many miles of roads that every year we've managed to come up with a different poker route. In keeping with the tradition we have an all new route this year that will take your breathe away with outstanding views of the surrounding area and plenty of twisties to practice all the new performance riding skills you're learning through our clinics and presentations. It's our 6th year and our 6th poker run. If we reversed all the routes starting next year we could go 12 years without ever repeating the same poker run. What a concept but we think it's too soon for that. We're going to keep digging away at new routes as long as we can.
BMW DEMO RIDES - Last year four Northwest BMW dealers loaded up their Sprinters and brought a fleet of twelve bikes to the rally. They liked it so much this year they've arranged to have the BMW National Factory Demo Truck and fleet onsite during the duration of the rally!
MORE VENDORS - As the rally grows so does the need for more vendors. We already have more signed up this year than last, but we're looking for more. If you or someone you know is interested in being a vendor at Sportbike Northwest please email us for details. We will be releasing a list of all the vendors lined up in July.
MARYHILL LOOPS ROAD CORNERING CLINIC UPDATE - All attendees of Sportbike Northwest will have a chance to ride the Maryhill Loops Road on Saturday afternoon. In the morning we will run a closed session cornering clinic put on by Puget Sound Safety (additional charge). All persons who are signed up for the rally by June 10th will be notified when the corning clinic is open for registration which is limited to 20 riders this year.
NORTHWEST/MOTORCYCLE TRIVIA GAME - Put a team together of up to six people and test your knowledge about motorcycles and about the Northwest. This fun game will no doubt be a nice ice breaker to kick the rally off with Thursday night allowing you to play with old friends and meet new ones - or should we say - MINDS! 12 categories (6 motorcycle, 6 Northwest) of 5 questions each - may the best team win.
