Default Calling ALL NorthEast Folks

Hello everyone,

Me and a friend want to embark on a Northeast ride. We are going to start at New York City and end at Maine or maybe Nova Scotia CA.

We are from the city and have no idea whats out there I only know of Boston, and been to Maine once when i was 10 years old.

From NYC to Maine is there any attractions, restaurants, landmarks, roads we should see?

Absolutely ANY input (places to stay, things to do, what to bring) would be great. This will be a easy paced ride.

Thanks

just got back from South Portland/Saco area a couple weeks ago. its barren, and rather desolate by NYC standards. just make sure you eat early because most good restaurants close at 8pm.

in portland on the wharf is a floating barge restaurant called DiMillio's. Foods fantastic (seafood is soooooo fresh), hot waitresses (yes, they are some hotties, just not many), and great scenery.

wish i could go with.....

http://www.motorcycleroads.us./index.html

Pick up a Moto Map for a few of the states your going through and do some of their routes. http://www.moto-maps.com/

I would recommend trying to make it to VT RT17 through the Appalacian gap and/or the Lincon gap. Rt 100 in Vt is great as well.

The App gap is as close as you can get to Deals gap without leaving NE.

Except it only has like 10-20ish turns, and the majority are all switch backs. It is a good ride to go back and forth over. I live about 45 minutes from it.

Damnit, I just wrote a huge thing on New England for you, and I clicked the wrong button... and deleted it..
I'll think about retyping it later, when I get bored of coding at work.

its gonna me and my bud first time riding this far.. were not going for hard twisties, maybe scenic and nice wide bends. We have no high expectations. Main focus is ride, eat good seafood, take photos, and relax.
