navy advancement question
so the results for the fall 07 advancement has come out. i was 1.51 points from getting advanced. i received a good conduct medal before the exam date but it wasn't documented on my worksheet. i have brought it to the attention of my chief and he is seeing what he can do. navy folk, do you know anyone that has had this issue? did they get advanced? how long did it take? thanks. i could just sit and wait but it's hard.

I got out....they did the same thing for my E-5 advancement. They wanted me to stay in another 6 months so they could get it sorted out.

If the Good conduct was supposed to be in before the exam, you'll get it. How long though? depends on your command , once they get the correction made , you need an Frocking letter signed by your CO. so however long that takes. Congrats you made it to? E4?E5?E6?

i still haven't heard back about my possible advancement. i did hear that due to the reworking the points system there is a "group" of people with the same issue as me so i don't know whats going to happen.

well as you know it just depends on how high you scored on the test....who gets e-5 first but yes this issue happened with me and i got e-4 bout 3 months later and i was in the top 10% for my rate

As a CPO, your CPO probably has this for action.... however, you should talk to the personnel dept. make sure they sumbitted the proper paperwork to bupers... it will take some time to process. I have seen this several times, usually it will take about 2-3 months to process. Remember "ask the Chief is 24-7!!!"

yeah i tried to get this done twice before i took the test but both times they just told me to come back later if i was within a certain amount of points after the test. stupid. well i talked to my chiefs about it and they have submitted everything up to bupers or wherever it needs to go. so as a chief that has seen this several times how does it look for me? will i be a 2nd class in the next couple of months?
