sniper school - Quantico, VA
this is probably a long shot, but i want to know if anyone has attended this school? is it for military personnel only? or can anyone go to the school?
i ask because i read a lot about sniping when i was younger, and grew interested in it. after reading Carlos Hathcock's book i learned about this school he established, and i wanted to attend.
if not possible to gain attendance without enrollment in the military, does anyone know of any other sniper training schools?

It's strictly Gov't personnel and I'm pretty sure you get invited to come after putting a request in. I don't know of any civilian sniper schools but if there were such a thing I'd imagine that the gov't would have a hand in that too.

The one in VA is for Goverment Agencies, ie FBI, CIA... every service have its own... And you have to request it, and it is not easy to get in. I competed with rifle and pistol with the NG and was #1 in rifle and 2 on pistol in my BN, once I went active I requested and I was told no...

There are sniper schools, that civilians can attend. The price is more than likely out of most of our ranges.
If you want to pay me, I'll train you.

you can.. i'm sure your parents have the hookup.. after all, they are spies
sniper, got any links for these schools? i can imagine it wouldn't be cheap, but considering the training you receive, i'd imagine it'd be worth it.
were you a marine sniper? use winchester model 70? were you ever sent abroad?

Sniper, are you and 11 series, I got denied because I was a 29 series at the time I requested. I submmited score cards from my competitions at the guard... at the time I was in Ft Hood and I my packet got turn down at 1CD, I was told that only infantry could apply for it just like the EIB. I miss shootnig long range, our KD range was up to 800 meters, not a lot, but we only had M16A1 then (1991).

I was infantry, I went to sniper school immediatly after AIT. I was EIB as well. Sniper school is mostly for 11 and 18 series. But cav scouts can get slots sometimes, 19 series.
