Blue to Green
I'm just wondering what the R6MN Army community thinks about Air Force enlisted/officers crossing over. I'm asking because the AF will disclose the Force Shaping results next week (May 1st). I'm fairly confident I'll make it through okay, but at 25% nobody is safe. I'm currently a Comm Officer, but was a prior enlisted F-16 Crew Chief. I just don't like the thought of throwing away 11+ years of service. Thanks, Mike.

Holy crap, they still doing this? Man they really steped it up eh, 25%?? It would seem to me that the military in general has been down sized enough. But hell, what do I know.
Don't be scared of another service dude. This war can't last that much longer so you probably wont have to worry about hella long deployments, and you'll get to do more shit.

Thanks for the good words. My career field was 45% overmanned for my year-group, fortunately some folks jumped ship. They're cutting about 30% AF wide, which D.C. thinks is the fastest way to fix our budget issues. Yeah right . Mike.

Besides, you guys are officers, it's not like you guys do any work anyways.... Just sit back, sip your coffee, and talk about how bad you have it

Now dammit all T... why do you have to go and crap on me? There are aalways a few who are lazy rat bastards, but the majority of us do actually work. My crewchief never loads that aircraft alone. I make all my own write ups in the log book. I always help them post flight it and I will turn wrenches if they need me to, and I am not the one that will be TI'ing the work off afterwards.

LOL, LT's are what we NCO's call the privates of the CO's. My best friend just went to OCS and got her butter bar and she is hatting life!!! She was doing staff work as an NCO, and had a few SPC and privated work for her, now all she have is a lot of CPT's and MAJ tell her what to do! Every detail, OIC for range, MSO officer she gets! At least they will give her a platoon next month so she will be able to concentrate on that for a while and catch a break... more or less!
I don't know about switching ffrom AF to Army, I do consider the AF a better service. I don't know the conditions or offers (options) given to you guys to switch, but if you have to choose between un-employment and the Army, I would definately go Green!
