Question for military members..

Hey, I'm in the air force and my cousin is in the navy. He was telling me that they got a new order of some sort saying that if your using your bike for uses other then going to and from work and you get into an accident, then you have to pay for your medical bills at your expense. Is this true? I was never briefed about this. If it is true, I think its pointless to even have free medical. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks.

AF here and I haven't heard of that either. Just as long as you're wearing the required safety gear, MSF certified to ride, and aren't breaking any laws, you should be good to go.

navy here. just so long as you have current paperwork and proper p.p.e. you get covered. i know someone that didn't have proper gear but he got medical anyways, so i really don't know.

a guy in my old unit was riding without a helmet and ate shit, all his medical covered it. i guess it all depends on your command
