i was there for a week and spent this New Years over there... not a bad place but not someplace I would want to be stationed at. I highly recommend TMOing a fan. They sell out like mad during the summer months. And the General is doing everything possible to save money. This base is already 5.5 million in the hole. So he's being stingy on the A/C and heating. My heater hasn't been working since I got here. He shut 'em off to save money. There's a nice BX, movie theatre and oh yeah, 117 bars right off base! Plenty of different food options. You're lucky because you'll miss the ORI and the next exercise isn't until July. Then that should be it for the year.

Yes...I know all about that...General Queernes does everything he can to fuck us out of basic living necessities so he can purchase several new jets for his boys...I hated every waking moment in that dump, may that place go up in blue flames...I am sorry for sounding so negative about it but i couldn't stand osan and its dipshit policies...

I did two tours there - fun and games on the DMZ. The place is what you make it.
Rule # 1: Don't be a barracks rat - learn some basic Korean phrases and go see what's out there beyond the local ville.
Rule # 2: Whatever you catch or get there will be with you for the rest of your life - act accordingly.
Rule # 3: The only thing that you can't do shit about is the weather - so make sure you get a full set of premium Gore-Tex and fleece liners to stop the the "Hawk" (that screaming wind that comes straight out of Siberia in the winter).
Keep those simple rules in mind (and a pocket full of superduty condoms) and you'll have a blast - don't remember them and you'll hate every minute of it.

yea i am lad that the ORI will be over when i get there i hope yall pass it, and i work vehicle maintenance in LRS and damn i wish i knew bout that heathing and cooling deal i would have shipped a fan
