Infineon (Sears Point) is very close to the area so be sure to see whats happening there if anything this early in the season.

Travis in the perfect area for some good times on the weekends. You are close to SF and Sacramento which are both cool places to party. Anything you can inmagine doing can be done in the area surrounding Travis.

As for ALS, it should be fun. I just did it this last June. I had a bad time with it but its not because of ALS itself. I was the only guy around 30 or so that had a line number. I was pushed back so late because of a deployment. Being the only person with a line number I was made class commander. Now being the commander of 29 5+ year SrA that just want to be out of the AF was fun stuff.

I'm a reservist and have done a couple of two week "tours" there. You'll be close to Davis, which is a nice college town. Good night life. I went up to Lake Tahoe too and did some gambling. It's far but the drive up there is beautiful.

What all do you want to do around here? Depending on what kinda lifestyle you have.. there's something for everything. Sacramento and San Fran are each less than an hours drive as well as Oakland and San Jose if you you want more big city options. whatever you can think of... San Fran has it.
Infineon Raceway is bout a 40 minute drive and there are always trackdays going on around there.
It's been raining the last couple days but weather is typically mild and nice during these times.
When I did ALS back in late 2002, it was quite easy. At least one weekend will be devoted to some sort of volunteer/voluntold community effort thing or group projects/study time. they encourage teamwork and wasting alot of weekend time doing stupid stuff... least thats how it was back when I went.
As far as bikes go... try going to www.bayarearidersforum.com there's tons of stuff there from group rides to social meetings to everything else under the sun.
I've been stationed here at Travis since '98 and love it.... definately a good time.

weather sure is nice out though, isn't it?
Ya guys got Monday off for President's Day? Every Monday night a bunch of guys get together at Jamba Juice/Baja Fresh and just hang out and shoot the poop... a good time to be had. most everybody will be riding their bikes there since the weather has been most excellent.
The BX is a little bit of a walk... thats gotta suck.
