Default For Ralph - Type R6

Dude, I'm not to twist an arm or anything like that, but just take a look at the new site and you'll be like WTF it's our old homesite!

I promise I won't say anything else, but just look!

That's because all they did was steal the old site. Although it was nice of them to leave R6messagent.com up at the top, til they figured out how to get rid of it. That was classic.

When you are incapable of original thought, you might as well steal someone elses.

P.S. This is not directed at you Saint. It's directed at the copycat board.

but ya know what... who are we/they stealing from???

i am sure many members over time have helped create logos, or help with various things

so they are just taking what they helped create

now i may be 100% wrong...i do not know the whole story

As a dancer in competition (My wife and I compete in Lindy Hop)I once was asked where did you get that move from - everyone was like that was bad ass shit, and all I said, was - It was your old move I saw on a video, I just put a new twist to it. Moral of the story, why re-invent the wheel.

When Big D sold the Messagenet, he sold something that was handed to him, so now a group of folks are just taking a good idea and making it better.

Did you ever hear of the American revolution back in 1776, well here' s a new revolution - the R6 Revolution where the board is by the people for the people, and not for sale!

Listen to your self... someone handed you something, something precious that united thousands of people, a board without ads, a board ran by peers - and you hand it over someone/something you don't know.

There are two paths in life, the easy and the hard one.

The easy allows for immediate comfort and long regret.

The hard one comes with long hardships, but a lifetime of comfort.

Is this gonna split up the cali section? I can see you guys already fighting about who stays and who goes, effectively making 2 cali sections in Cali; this cant be good.

Friends are friends, all I said was - hey there's a new place that resembles what we were used to, and you can step in and take a look, the choice is his to make. I was on another board before I cam to this one, and when this one goes down, I see plenty of folks on other similar boards, so it's nothing more than that.

By principle I choose to leave and support a forum that is not for profit, this new site tries to direct you to motorcycle.com, or ATV events, or other stuff that is not for R6's, and that's why I had joined initially - but it was the members that joined for similar reasons that made it better than the rest.

For every action there is a reaction - this is mine, I will not twist anyone's arm or make anyone feel bad for staying - but in a few days I will delete the link for good and be someplace else.

Saint, I hear ya. You aren't happy with having to look at ads. You aren't happy that the site has a new owner. It's all cool.

I was never happy having to look at Cal-Sportbike.com ads or whatever else was put on the old site. I never cared who owned the site.

It didn't make any difference. The site is still here. It didn't disappear. The threads that were there 5 days ago are still there. I guess I just don't get what the fuss is about?

The only issue I have with the new site is that it's nothing more than a photochop of the old one. If someone had one original thought that went into it, that would be cool. When an original site is handed down from person to person to person, that's one thing. It's still the original. What we have now is a pathetic attempt to copy an original thought. And even then, the newbs running it can't get it right. Have fun over there.

Being in the military we both know, new rules or a new place present problems that are unforseen. A bunch of guys felt that something had to be done - and they did, the spirit of such actions is comendable.

I give Kudos to the guys that brought back the image of what many considered comfort - I am sure that in time it will be much better and it will stand on it's own. I see this as Rossi wanting Bridgestone tires, it's a need and they are supplying it.

Yes it is new, and like any new company - it is usually born from a good idea, be it similar to another - for example Windows vs Apple back in the early eigthies. There was nothing wrong with the old messagenet, but new ownership wants to create revenue from a non-profit website, and that is a big change for me. The unknowns now are: what else will the new owners do, what happens when they decide to dump it, or merge it with other sites due to revenue.

Economics is what is driving this site now, not racers, or purist, or fans of the sport, it's a corporation and the decision making power has shifted from passion and interest - to profit and revenue. So, that is my logic for leaving, I am sure I will hear of you or see you in the future, this board has been a great place, but a new birth brings a new promise for the future.
