when I bought my home in 2005, the sellers mortgage company took care of all the paperwork for us since we didn't have it either(was waiting on movers like you are). A VA rep called the next day to verify our eligibility, setup an appointment to do an inspection on the house, and then handled everything from there. I never saw anything else until the closing date, and all that included was 3 pieces of paper with the VA logo on it stating that I was using my benefits.
Also know that any inspections performed on the house (ie termite, home warranty, etc) is not allowed to be paid for by the buyer if you use your VA benefits. Check out
VA LOANS if you haven't done so already. It shows you absolutely everything you are entitled to and what you can and cannot be charged for at closing.
Hope this helps a little. I am by know means an expert, as this was my first house I ever bought, so was new to the whole thing.
