Default Wahoo!, Visiting June 20-Aug 8

Flying into HNL on the 20th of June and staying for 4 days. Then heading to Hilo to help build a house for about a month. After that, I'm just going to tool around and dive and hike and whatever else I can get into. I may get a job and end up staying. I have been wanting to go to HI for three years now and I can't wait.

Can you guys give me any heads up on cool stuff to do? Any way to make this trip cheaper, I've got a place to stay for the duration of the house building but afterwards I have nowhere specific to stay. How much does a cheap 1 bedroom apt run (bearing in mind price is relative to location). Anyhelp would be great and if anyone is a diver or just wants to meet up and do something let me know. I'll be spending my 21st alone there, do you have any bars you recommend?

Thanks for your help/input

Luke

well if you were going to be on maui i could tell you where to go.

but since you will be on honolulu for a few days, check out pipeline cafe, its a good club for the up to 25 crowd. there are a few more clubs to check out, just tune the radio and listen for what clubs will be kickin.

now for hilo, i have no clue what there is to do there.

PM me if you need anything. I live in Hilo. It's a small town and it usually rains a lot. There are more HD riders than anything on this rock. Hunting and fishing is great. Theres cool places to ride... this is the largest of the Hawaiian Islands afterall.

I've been reading up on the islands and looking for an apt online. I have found some good deals but I can't decide which island I'd like to settle on more 'long term'. Most likely Oahu because of Honolulu and the easier ability to get a job, but Maui and Kauai look awesome too. Guess I'll have to pick after I get there and check things out for myself.
How is Hilo anyways? Are the people there cool and friendly? What are the women like there?
I'll keep you guys in mind when I show up.
