Default Yamaha servicing/ warranty

Whats the deal with Yamaha servicing/ warranty?

The dealer I got my R6 from last year (brand new 07 model) has got rid of his Yamaha franchise. As I know the guys in there quite well, I would like to continue to use them for servicing. Will this invalidate my warranty?

I've heard (and read) that as long as the shop is VAT registered and use genuine parts (filters etc) it should be ok. ? Anybody clarify this before I email Yamaha?

As far as I am aware you can take the bike to who ever you like as long as they are reptuable and your book gets stamped.

My Honda was brand new and I could take it anywhere as they said it did not matter aslong as the book was stamped.

The use of genuine parts and done to the manufacturers schedule is a must.
