My First Trackday
Hey everyone,
Sorry for asking this really noobish question, but I feel it's better to ask then to look like an ass out on my first track day. I am registering for a beginner session at Road Atlanta and I think I am ready, however, I don't know what to wear. Is everyone there going to be in leathers? What I normally ride in is: a textile jacket (I know leathers are much better, but I enjoy the air flow on normal everyday riding), leather gloves, jeans, boots, and (of course) a full face DOT helmet. Is this normal for just the beginners session? I figured as I moved up in skill level, more and more people would be in leathers, and if I continue doing track sessions, I too will invest in some. But for right now, I just want to know about the clothing for my first track day. Thanks!

Bro here's the thing you can't ride on the track with a textile jacket or just a leather jacket.. its either you get a 2 pc or a 1 pc .. but if you are planning on going to track more often then i recommend getting a 1 pc suit... its will be expensive but it's a one time buy... and for you too sign up for track with out a gear is not really smart.. cuz you still need to be comfortable on how the leather will feel since you only had a mesh jacket.... cuz leathers are heavy and tight .. and when getting a suit you have to have the right size you dont want it loose.. READ THE Thrend First track day on my R6 by Dave arsix copy and paste this on your browser-------> http://www.r6messagenet.com/forums/t...day-my-r6.html I had the same topic with Dave for leather for track anyways.. if ask question .. make sure you get what you want to dont jut go for whatever.. its your ride .. if you atre tight on cash... rent .. it'll be ewwwy but if you have extra cash.. then look at there one by alpine start the 1 pc Octane leather.. its cheap about $600 just get the booths and the glove to match it.. Good luck...

Thanks to all three of you for your replies, especially natedogg & raven for mentioning that I can rent leathers.
Now that I know I can do that, I believe my game plan is to call and see if they rent leathers, if they do, sign up for the track (I haven't done it yet), try it out and see if I like it. If I do, I will go and look at some leathers like the 1pc set Raven mentioned.
Going this route, I might have to wear some nasty leathers the first time, but I won't waste my money if it turns out that the 8 hour round trip drive to attend the nearest track day isn't for me.
Again, thank you all for your help!

And may I suggest wearing some under armour long sleeve shirt and pants under the leathers. It will make the putting on and taking off process easier, keep you cool and keep other dudes yucky stuff off of you ;)
