Default Heat Protection for Race Fairings?

Hey guys, I have installed my race fairings on my 06 R6 (hot bodies) and have noticed that on the bottom (exhaust area) they get VERY hot to the point where the paint is bubbling. Has anyone else had this problem? Can I put some form of insulation tape on it? Or will this just trap the head and cause problems for the bike?

Please give me advice on what to do and what works well. Thanks a lot!

I use the heat tape from jeggs. Its an automotive application, but it has a sticky back so you can just stick it to the inside of your belly pan....works awesome!

Try a local motorcycle dealer, I found a heat barrier made by "Moose" - same company that makes off road stuff I think. Works great, probably similiar to the stuff from Jeggs.

i just bought Thermo Tec from summitracing.com for my new track plastics...its a heat barrier, adhesive backed, 24 in. x 12 in for $17.95 plus S/H...my boy used it for his old 03 R6 and another friend on 2000 gsxr 750...works great...
