I must admit that tromex fit very well as well.. And it was my first time installing it.. Drilled my own holes though.. Honestly, minus the misfitmap where the upper and lower meets on the right, I think it fits beatifully.. and I think if I do it again, i can do a better job.. I honestly recommend this body to those who are looking to save money.... and please don't compare it to sharkskinz.. if you must then go buy sharkskinz..

I was going to say you need to mount the lower first but even tho I mounted my upper first the overall fit is very good. I have a minor gap at each side where the upper and lower meet but its still enough for the fastners to attach with no problems. There is no issues with the exhaust.

I'd throw some glass over the holes and re-mount them.

tip* if you dont want the holes to reappear don't use body filler to fill holes or cracks. thats not what it's for.
use fiberglass resin.

I have a question about patching the hole..

Do you put the resin from the inside? or from the outside? I am thinking from the inside and you can use the filler to smooth things out.. Am I correct?

I have a hole I made on my body work cuz I didn't know how to use the DZus fasteners and I would like to fill it... Thanks!

it wouldn't matter wich side you want to do it from. I would use tape over hole on the back and fill the hole from the front side with the resin. after its dry I guess you could remove the tape or leave it. no matter what you are going to have to paint it if its visable if not visable, no big deal.
and depending on how big the hole is (more than a 1/2") I would use some fiberglass mat with it.
but if you need to use the mat I would put the mat on the inside and smear the resin over it. and then put the resin in the front side of the hole. so the fibers of the mat are not sticking through the good side if you need to sand it smooth.
try packaging type tapes. instead of masking tape. masking tape may let the stuff through it or not come off as easy

the only problem is the cost of the resin. the smallest I can find is a 1/2 gallon for $12-18.
if you are just doing one hole maybe a glue of some kind would be more cost saving- for the lack of a better word.

but anything is better than body filler. body filler is only for filling rough surface imperfections 3/16" deep or less. it will crack or fall off if used over holes and cracks.

I have a set of Tromex and they have held up well so far (with some minor modding, but I bet it was due to my installation).

Anyways, I sprayed the bodywork flat black and it looks great. However, what do you guys do to get off the bugs and stuff without messing up the spray paint? Also it is very prone to scratching (flat black). Any way to prevent this? or do I need to just repaint for 5 bucks every month?

Oh, and 'get a real paint job' will not work b/c I am cheap as all hell.

I wish I could say the same as everyone else....

I had fitment issues with my set of tromex for the 07 R6. the mounting points at the bottom near the exhaust did not match up, especially near the shifter on the left. from the start, the holes didn't line up. and yes, i started with the lowers first. secondly, i wanted to use my stock exhaust so I had to dremel off a good amount near the back for it to fit.

well, i'll be giving the folks at tromex a call tomorrow.
