Default quick question on doing a clutch wheelie

I went out and attempted to learn 2nd gear wheelies. I wanted to start slow and try just pulling it up a few inches since I'm just learning and out of about 30 attempts I got it right once!

I've got an 02 R6 with -1+2 and I'm in 2nd up to about 7 rpms.. then I pull in the clutch, rev it to maybe about 10 rpms and it just jerks forward. I don't think I'm reving it up enough before I let the clutch go.

Approx how much should I be reving it before I slip the clutch?

don't worry about how much. keep your eyes on the road and cover the rear brake.

go by feel. if it just lurches, then give it more gas the next time.

I did go out again today and you guys were right. I just looked straight ahead and gave it more throttle and it did come up. I'm almost able to get it every time.. then I'll just have to work on how high it comes up. Thanks!

50 mph and a bounce before clutch will work greeat. remember to cover the rear brake!!!! you can achieve the bounce with ur body weight or a quick open then close the throttle a little to get the bike to do the work, then as u twist the throttle again pullin the clutch and let it out after a quick rev.. up she goes

cover the rear brake pedal with your foot so that incase it decides to maybe go too far back, then you can squeeze the brake to bring it back down...

if she comes up too high you need to hit that brake to bring her back down. "cover the brake" simply means have your right foot ready to hit the brake in case you need to bring the bike down...
