Default Scraping tail

Will the bike throw me off when I scrape the tail>? This is how far back I'm getting it in second for now...

never scraped tail. but even with a 12 bar it's not easy at first. you'll be fine as long as you hit the brake.

oh, and looking good.

Once again thanks

Is first gear mandatory to scrape tail because of the slower wheelie or is it just as possible in second?

in second you'd either have to pull the clutch in or yank it back pretty quick and scrape it. when you start going slow the engine will stall on you. it's hard enough in first gear to keep it from stalling...even with the idle up.

You don't want to scrape tail if you don't have the rear brake down...you may freak out and just crash.

Not to mention your minty tail will go bye bye.

Yeah id go w/ 1st gear...stalling that out would suck.
Just let it go back nice and smooth and soon as u hear the tail hit tap your brake. Try to let your engin brake carry u back while covering the brake...that way u dont mash your tail hard...it will hit smoother.
Ive found the faster u go the easier it is...it keeps the bike from wobbling on u.

easiest way is to pull in the clutch and coast back ... lighter and lighter on the brake (behind the BP) until it taps ... but if you dont have the brake down, then you're in for a new subframe.

but to answer the original question, you WONT get thrown back down .. you'll break the plastic and tail light ... they do not offer much resistance against the force you're talking about subjecting them to. the only way youd get resistance, is when you get to the subframe ... and if you're that far back, you wont be slamming back forewards

not tryng to scare you or anything ... i have a picture where im scraping seat/ subframe ... when coasting is entirely possible.
