So, I got popped by laser today doing 90 in a 55 on I-85 in Dekalb county while driving my Wrangler. Georgia State Patrol told me to get out of the car, told me I was doing 90 in a 55 and then wrote me a ticket. Now, I'm under 21 which means that I automatically lose my licence for one year. I don't think I can plead Nolo because of my age and I doubt I'd be given any leniency because I had the exact same ticket 3 years ago. Does anyone know a good traffic lawyer in Atlanta, preferably with very successful results, that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. And how much am I probably looking to spend on the lawyer and ticket. Any advice?

Check your police record...When I got pulled for 100+ in a 55 I had no priors but I have had 3 speeding tickets and all were 85ish in a 55 in the same area. You'd think I'd learn LOL

Not really. I have seen people be successful in getting the radar tossed out for one reason or another but then the officer testifies that he visually estimated your speed and that he is trained to do so. The verdict is always guilty.

90 on I-85 is just normal speed around Atlanta. There is some question about the legality of the 55mph zone where you were caught but I am not sure of the exact details and am waiting on some more information. Here is a site with some more specific Georgia information:

all i can say is laser is hard to beat but shop around for lawyers first talk with them is free so try a few see what they think if they will be able to help you if they cant they will tell you. its not going to be cheap but if it were then everyone would fight tickets but lawyers can usually help out some way always seemed that way to me in court...
