Reckless driving for doing a wheelie - GAY
Well it was the first night it was nice and clear and dry in the past 2 weeks. Figured I would take the bike out for a nice ride at night. Was just past midnight, not another car on the road... Figure I would open up a little do a small first gear wheelie and held it for a few feet, well next thing I know 2 blocks later I've got 4 squad cars chasing my ass. I pulled over, and have this cop rip my keys out of my bike, and arrest me. Tells me I'm going to jail for reckless. Get taken in booked, yadda yadda yadda. Released... THEY LEFT MY BIKE ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. Luckily I convinced them to bring my helemet, they were trying to lock it up.
Anyways looks like I'm gonna have to get my lawyer to get this taken care of, its so shitty. I guess I could understand if I was putting somebody else at risk... but there was nobody on the road, I believe a undercover officer pulled off to the side of the road saw it all and called me in. So shitty, just had that urge to go out for a late ride.

Yes, it sucks but take some responsibility. (not by paying the ticket, but in your attitude)
How do you know there was no one walking next to the road?
If there was "not another car on the road" how did a cop see you do it?
I've done shit like this myself but at the end of the day I don't blame cops for doing their job.

I am taking responsibility for it. I did the whole time w/ the police.
I know there was nobody walking next to the road because I looked... A cop saw me because he was pulled inbetween some parked cars. Wrong spot, wrong time, it sucks... it was stupid.
I do blame him for not showing some leniency when I didnt run and he was 4 blocks behind me when the lights first came on... He told me I could have left him in the dust and been gone... sometimes I question why I dont run.
Is it worth it?

Not worth it to run and possibly not worth getting a lawyer - if it's your first offense. Go to court and talk to the prosecutor to see what they offer. Chances are they will just fine you. You can always get a lawyer later but this way you might save yourself a couple grand.

See my issue is I work for a Driver Education company... I'm not a instructor but getting a reckless would prob cost me my job.
I think I can find a lawyer here for around 500 or so that can take care of it. It would be my first offense criminally, I only have 1 speeding ticket ever.
That's my issue is that there is no fine set, because it is a criminal offense. I dont know if its worth risking that, know what I mean?

haha, golden.
But that sucks, mate. And you're right, cops do have discretion. Kinda funny to think if I were a cop, what would I do if I saw a biker do a wheelie late at night on an empty street... If he had proper gear on, I'd probably not even cite him. Arrest for a wheelie, while it's in the books, certainly seems a bit excessive.
Anyhow, get a lawyer. It can only help and for $500, that's not much at all for what he could possibly do with the case. If it gets thrown out or dismissed, that'd make it worth every penny.

It does suck the cop arrested you, leaving your bike on the side of the road. But at the same time, they are only doing their job. Doing a wheelie on public roads is against the law and you knew that before doing it. So yea it sucks they took it to the extreme but that's the risk you took. Live and learn.

So I went and had a sit down with my lawyer today to discuss this matter. Being that it is criminal it is going to cost me a bit more...
$2500
It blows my fucking mind. But this guy has been my sa ving grace and got me off from every other thing I've ever had... I have all the faith in the world in him.
Stupid mistakes =[[[
