Thumbs down Gotta a 28 point citation today

So I am home today sick and I get a knock on the door about a hour ago. Its a detective from another city. asking me if I remembered hitting a car last week. I say no because I don't.
So he asks can he come in I say sure, b/c I have nothing to hide in my home. So he tells me last Tuesday that I had backed into a car in a parking lot and caused some damage. He also says they got it on video. I am like wow! I really don't recall hitting anyone last week but it is possible.
He than says Did you have a motorcycle in the back of your truck. I said ya I sure did. Then I knew for sure it did happen... Damn. I feel bad. I ask him for the victims info so I can make this right. he gives me it then he also issues me a summons for:
4 pts Careless Driving
12 pts Failed to notify police officer of an accident
12 pts left scene after damaging an unattended vehicle

I tell him, I never knew it happened and would have never left if I known I had. He really didnt seem to care and let himself out.

This is freaking horrible. Bye bye License

Big truck with a lift and no street lights. Apparently my bumper bumped into the tail light housing and broke the tail light. I thought possibly I had heard a noise but thought nothing of it. when I thought I heard a noise I looked in my rearview and didnt see anything. believe me had I known I would have stopped. The damage wasnt very severe from what the officer said.

Yes go to court. That's a little extreme for a broken taillight. I wouldn't be surprised if it gets thrown out, shit happens all the time(I know it has to me).

the broken taillight is not the point, he left the scene of an accident, the system does not give two shits if he was actually aware that he backed into the car,

take it to court, it'd really be worth it to get an attorney IMO. I just dont see all this sticking if you challenge it, and wow!

Shit happens. Hopefully your judge will understand that. It may be a good idea to get a lawyer if you haven't already. You could easily make matters worse with this one if you try to represent yourself. Good luck man.

I'm just saying that little dents and stuff happen ALL THE TIME in parking lots and such. What do they want you to wait for (possibly)hours until the other party shows up so you can exchange info? Just seems extreme to me, I mean potentially losing your license for a sub$200 part.
